Private Pilot Certificate

If you want to fly with passengers, you'll need a Private Pilot License from the Federal Aviation Adminstration [FAA]. To qualify for one, the FAA requires you to complete a minimum of 40 hours of flying time - including a minimum of 10 hours of solo time and 20 hours with an Instructor-Pilot. Training for Night Flying and Cross-Country Flying is usually included. All the previous hours flown in the Solo Pilot License program count towards this certificate. On average it can take between only 50 and 80 hours of total flying time to obtain this license. Many people are able to complete their training in as little as 16 weeks.

Prerequisites

There are no requirements to start training for your FAA Private Pilot license, however you will want to complete our Solo Pilot License ™ program before moving on to work towards your Private Pilot Certificate.
