INTRODUCTORY FLIGHT LESSON<\/span><\/pre>\nIntroductory Flight Lessons or ‘Test Flights’ are for motivated individuals, seeking to Learn to Fly.\u00a0 And, who might likely want to join the Stanford Flying Club, and pursue their Pilot License. They are not suitable for sight-seeing tours, and normally not for more than 1 person.
\nNo regular Membership is required to sign up for one.\u00a0 Guest-Membership status is included with the Introductory Lesson<\/p>\n
Resources (like Airplanes, Instructors, Introductory Flight Lessons, Club Memberships, etc.) are\u00a0\u00a0limited.\u00a0 You will need to provide your full name, and complete contact information (name, address, phone, e-mail, etc.).\u00a0 And, you will need to have a valid passport or Visa. This Lesson will typically include:<\/p>\n
\n- An Introduction\/Overview, that will take about 50 minutes.\u00a0 It will address the ‘Learn to Fly’ process, Pilot Certification, Training Methods, Club information, and, Costs.<\/li>\n
- An Introduction to the Aircraft, ‘Pre-Flight’ \/ Ground Instruction, that will take about 50 Minutes.<\/li>\n
- Actual In-Aircraft time: about 1 Hour.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Total time: about 2 Hours and 50 Minutes.<\/p>\n

STANFORD FLYING CLUB MEMBERSHIP \/\u00a0ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS\n<\/span><\/pre>\nMemberships are intended for those seeking to learn to fly and obtain\u00a0or upgrade their Pilot Certificate.
\nMembership is open to the public. Applicants must provide their full name, address and contact information.<\/p>\n
An Introduction\/Onboarding meeting of approximately 50 minutes, that will typically cover:<\/p>\n
\n- What is involved in Learning to Fly and getting a Pilot License<\/li>\n
- Training Method(s) &\u00a0Systems<\/a> used<\/li>\n
- Stanford Flying Club information<\/li>\n
- Available Pilot Licenses<\/a><\/li>\n
- Overview of possible Costs<\/li>\n
- Club Regulations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
To start Flight Training, the US Transportation Security Agency [TSA] requires US citizens to present a valid US Passport. Or a US Birth Certificate.\u00a0 US Permanent Residents or non-citizens\u00a0need\u00a0approval to take flight training directly from the TSA.\u00a0 Stanford Flying Club Members normally receive such approval within a few weeks after applying.
\nThe Club can not\u00a0assist non-citizens with obtaining\u00a0any I-20 or Visa to be able to be in the US.<\/p>\n
