Our Aircraft
Stanford Flying Club has a modern, well-maintained fleet of training aircraft available for our members.
Our Standard Services Plan uses "dry rates," which means fuel and small taxes aren't included. Fuel is billed using the current full-service rate at the airport.
All aircraft are covered by insurance. An optional Damage Waiver is available under the Standard Services Plan. Solo pilots are asked to carry personal non-owned aircraft insurance with at least $20,000 in aircraft damage and "loss of use" coverage to help cover the deductible. Most pilots find annual premiums run about $175-$350.

Cessna 162 Skycatcher
N7032D
Standard Plan Services Rate (Dry): $174 / hour
The Cessna 162 Skycatcher was designed to be a cost-effective aircraft to operate. It has a 100-hp O-200 engine that burns about 5 to 6 gallons per hour.
The Garmin 300 avionics, made specifically for the Skycatcher, is similar to the G1000 found in the 172S Skyhawk model, but smaller and more basic. However, it has everything a well-equipped glass panel aircraft has – airspeed and altimeter tapes, GPS, comm radio, flight information, navigation information, VFR and IFR charts, and synthetic vision.

This 2-seat, 100-HP aircraft is perfect for pilot training and cross-country flights. It’s great for Sport Pilot, Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, and Commercial Pilot training.
It features a wide cockpit with side-by-side seating that provides excellent visibility, even below the wing. The Garmin avionics are modern touch screens with moving maps, weather displays, air traffic information, and synthetic vision.
The plane's 100-horsepower Rotax 912 iS Sport FADEC-controlled, fuel-injected engine is economical. It’s typical to experience fuel consumption of 3.8 gallons per hour — and possibly even less — in cruise.
