Mara is originally from Oregon, has a Masters in Aero/Astro Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelors in Engineering Physics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida. She was a flight instructor at Embry-Riddle for several years before she moved to the Bay Area. Mara is also a Doctoral Student at the University of Oregon.
She has been teaching students in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2007, specializing in teaching students of all ages. She has taught people from as young as 12 to as old at 75. She holds certifications as a CFI, CFII and has been flying since 2000.
Mara’s hobbies include: surfing, long distance running, paragliding, skydiving, backpacking, traveling, and any other adventure she can find time to try. She enjoys spending as much time as possible in the air & outdoors.
